biography ::
I was born in a small city of Bangladesh on June 24. I was raised
and studied there until I came to the United States. I was very young when I moved to the United States with my family in 1989.
I went to a school University of Chicago at
Illinois, got a degree in Biochemistry in 1997
and started
working as a Chemist for US Drug Testing Company. I was also involved in a lot of cultural activities.
I always had a keen
interest in modeling but never tried to be exposed. Modeling was probably a passion right from my childhood. However, I could never imagine the extent and nature of my involvement in work even a couple of years back.

M A Shoheb, a renowned
Bangladeshi singer was searching for a model for his music video. Along with him came Rehan Reza and Asif Iqbal Khan from a digital production company in Kansas City. That was when I actually got a break and I was asked to act in the video. After that, I just moved on with the flow. I was asked for photo sessions by many photographers.
Since then, I have acted in a few drama serials and in some theatres on stage. I have acted in Rabindranath's Kankal and also worked in a documentary
movie of an American film maker.
Many people ask me about adoption of American culture and building up of my
modeling career there. However, the fascinating part about it is, not only did I adjust with a culture alien to me, the American photographers and media also
familiarized themselves with our culture. I did a cover for a leading fashion magazine of the US, where I was asked to
emphasize aspects from my own culture during the photo session. It was an overwhelming experience for me.

I have had to go through a lot to reach this stage in my life. I am a wife, mother of a beautiful daughter, have a household. However, even today, I go to an acting school to enhance my talents and develop my presentation skills. Many young girls write to me telling me about their interest in this particular field and also enquire as to how to actually get there. I would definitely like to set up an institute in future where these young people would be trained accordingly and their confidence level would be boosted up to be the creative people they aspire to be.
